Dance Practice Journal: Use Your Video History with Danzu

Start with one completed analysis

Record a short individual dance video and review the six axes: timing, groove, sharpness, amplitude, variety and dynamics. Pick one observation that you can check in the video. Do not try to maximize all six numbers in every session.

Review your history

Open History from Home to revisit past analyses. You can sort entries by newest or highest score and open an entry to review its saved result. Start with the most recent comparable take; the highest-scoring take may use a different song, style or movement task.

Add the context numbers leave out

In the free editable practice log, write your practice focus, music section, observation and next step. This separate browser tool does not sync with Danzu. Download or print a backup if you want to keep the notes outside this browser.

Repeat a comparable task

Use the same music section, genre, camera position and sequence for your next recording. Review both videos alongside the scores. Changes in framing, audio quality and scoring software can affect the result; a higher score alone does not prove improved technique.

Read progress as a pattern

The Progress view brings together stored analysis data. Look for a recurring practice issue across comparable sessions, then choose a small adjustment. If the feedback conflicts with what you or your teacher see, treat the measurement as something to investigate rather than a final judgment.

Who this workflow suits

This is useful when you want a record of individual practice between classes or while working on your own freestyle. For a curriculum, reference choreography instruction or a teacher’s assessment, use those resources alongside the journal.
